Advanced Manufacturing Industry Partnership Names New President and Executive Director selected from Board Leadership
The Advanced Manufacturing Industry Partnership (AMIP), facilitating activities to fill the talent pipeline for manufacturers in the Greater Cincinnati Region, has selected Susan Whitman as its new president and executive director.

Cincinnati, Ohio (December 5, 2021) – The Advanced Manufacturing Industry Partnership (AMIP), facilitating activities to fill the talent pipeline for manufacturers in the Greater Cincinnati Region, has selected Susan Whitman as its new president and executive director.
Susan Whitman, Executive Director & President, AMIP
Whitman’s background, combined with a deep passion for promoting our regions’ skilled workforce pipeline for manufacturers and connecting educational programs, will help to further advance the AMIP mission to expose students to advanced manufacturing opportunities early, while working with businesses, educators and community based organizations to attract and retain skilled workers in the region.
She succeeds Sean Kelley, who held the post for nearly two years, working with the AMIP Board to transform the organization from a regional collaborative to a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit association. AMIP is the go-to source for manufacturing workforce development.

Whitman’s work as Board Treasurer transformed AMIP into a growing membership organization. Among the key projects Whitman will be involved in providing skilled and upscaled manufacturing employees through the Good Jobs Challenge, planning & executing Manufacturing Month tours throughout the region, additional training initiatives in connection to workforce development, strategic economic support of manufacturing career development, and regional efforts among manufacturers to increase diversity, equity and inclusion.

Susan Whitman, AMIP Executive Director & President
A lifelong resident of Cincinnati Whitman has a Masters In Business Administration from Ohio State University and a Bachelor degree in Marketing from Miami University. She has served in leadership roles in both the local non-profit, and private sectors, most recently serving as Board Treasurer for AMIP. In her previous role as Senior Vice President at Truist Bank where she worked closely with commercial and middle market companies focusing on financial and strategic success. She formerly held leadership positions in business development, business transformation and product management.
Sean Kelley will remain involved with AMIP, serving as a leader as it focuses on strategic school partnerships.

The Advanced Manufacturing Industry Partnership (AMIP) is the Greater Cincinnati regional association of advanced manufacturing employers, educators and community agencies working together to ensure a have a robust pipeline of qualified workers.
As the southwest regional industry sector partner for the Ohio Manufacturing Association, it works to alleviate occupational shortages for the industry by creating and implementing an integrated process to link current and prospective employees with educational opportunities to meet the needs for skilled talent across southwest Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeast Indiana.
